CHEAP WIRING RUINS EXPENSIVE LIGHTS

Say it plainly: the light bar aisle is full of good hardware dying in bad installs. The failure is almost never the LED — it's the vampire tap that corroded, the un-fused lead that melted, the switch carrying amperage it was never rated for, the clamp mount that vibrated loose and pointed a $400 bar at the sky. Around Houston, add water: every unsealed connector on a mud machine has a countdown running.

Our installs treat the wiring as the product. Relays carry the load, switches carry only signal. Every circuit is fused at the source and labeled. Connectors are sealed — actually sealed, heat-shrink and dielectric, not electrical-taped. Mounts go to structure, and on caged machines we'd rather build the light mounts into the cage than clamp anything.

The same electrical discipline covers repair work: parasitic drains hunted down with a meter, corroded grounds restored, and the mystery gremlins that follow a proper diagnostic session instead of a parts cannon. Lighting is the glamorous half of this page; the boring half is why it keeps working.

The Work

LIGHT BARS, WHIPS, ROCK LIGHTS & ELECTRICAL REPAIR

Light Bars & Pods
Forward bars, A-pillar pods, chase lights, and reverse pods — beam patterns actually matched to speed and terrain. We install Rigid Industries and the brands that earn their price.
Whips & Rock Lights
Lighted whips with quick-disconnects, rock lights sealed against pressure-washing, and RGB systems that don't backfeed the harness.
Switch Panels & Power Management
Switch panels, busbars, and accessory fuse blocks that turn wiring chaos into a labeled system with room to grow.
Electrical Diagnosis & Repair
Dead circuits, parasitic drains, charging problems, corroded grounds, and water-crossing aftermath — found with a meter, fixed with sealed repairs.

Whether it's a full build's lighting stage or one bar on a stock machine, the standard is identical. Night dune runs want distance; tight East Texas trails want spread and low-mounted fill; dusty group rides want amber. Tell us how you ride at night and we'll spec beam patterns that actually match — not just lumens on a box.

Electrical budget honesty applies here too: LEDs are efficient, but a full lighting suite plus audio plus winch is real draw. We do the charging-system math before the install — same policy as our winch and accessory installs.

Common Questions

LIGHTING & ELECTRICAL FAQ

For East Texas trail speeds, a combo-beam bar up top for reach plus low-mounted wide-pattern pods for ditch-and-tree fill beats one giant spot bar every time. Dune and desert speeds flip the priority toward distance. Beam pattern matched to speed is the whole science — lumens are just marketing.

Classic symptoms of a connection problem: a loose ground, a corroded quick-connect, or a chafed wire earthing against the frame over bumps. Occasionally it's a failing voltage regulator. It's a short diagnostic session with a meter — and the fix is permanent when the repair is sealed properly.

Yes — parasitic drain hunting is standard work. We measure the draw, pull circuits one at a time, and isolate the offender; it's usually an accessory wired always-hot, a stuck relay, or a stereo memory circuit. You leave knowing the number, the cause, and the fix — not a new battery treating a symptom.

After our install — yes, within reason. Sealed connectors and properly routed looms exist exactly for the Houston wash-off-the-clay ritual. Direct pressure at close range into any connector is still a bad idea; we'll show you the few spots on your machine that deserve gentleness.

Constantly — rewiring other installs is half the electrical work we do. We strip the taps and tape, rebuild the circuits with proper protection, and leave you a labeled system. It usually costs less than the diagnostic chaos of leaving it in place for another season.
